Incentive and Deterrence Design

To maintain a vibrant and secure ecosystem, MUD has established a dual mechanism of incentives and accountability for its stakeholders.

Rewards Framework:

  • Validator Staking Rewards Participants running validator nodes and securing the network earn regular rewards via token staking.

  • Community Builder Grants Users who contribute to ecosystem growth (e.g., education, moderation, localization, campaign execution) are eligible for token-based recognition.

  • Developer Support Program Development teams that build critical infrastructure or applications within the MUD ecosystem may receive treasury funding and milestone-based bonuses.

Deterrence Measures:

  • Governance Misuse Penalties Users engaging in manipulation, spam proposals, or collusion face automatic reductions in their credit scores and may incur token slashing.

  • Reputation-Based Sanctions Sustained negative behavior affects a participant’s governance rights, future funding eligibility, and standing in ecosystem initiatives.

MUD’s governance logic evolves through DAO iterations and aims to balance participatory inclusivity with resilience against abuse.
